Marie and Justin had a laid back, music inspired wedding in Bloomington, IL. They’re both music nerds – Marie teaching orchestra, and Justin teaching band. So of course there’s no better local wedding venue than The Castle Theatre. This historical brick building downtown houses numerous live music concerts every year and was the perfect location for an urban and moody photography vibes.
The day started with Marie and her bridesmaids getting ready in the Castle’s green room where all the bands and artists hang before shows. There’s a graffiti wall, lots of great natural light from the large windows, and exposed brick (literally all of my wedding photographer dreams). Marie wore a gorgeous romantic and classic off the shoulder lace overlay dress. Her hair in a perfectly polished high bun, and classic neutral makeup.
After that, the day flowed perfectly into first look in the park across the street from the venue and couple portraits both outside and inside The Castle against a super moody brick wall by the elevators. We finished with some couple portraits in front of the venue marquee – displaying Marie and Justin’s names. The couple got married during an indoor ceremony at The Castle, with them and their wedding party on the theater stage, followed by family portraits and a reception. Marie and Justin hired a super energetic and awesome Bloomington local jazz band to play during cocktail hour and man did they freaking kill it.
